Part of this event we collected stationaries and art supplies from our colleagues at organization placing drop boxes at office premises for a week.
Once collection drive was over, we had meeting within our core team for distribution planning. We wanted to gift those material to needy people. So, we took some time for research on ngo’s and schools within our known circle and came up with three places for donation drive which is mentioned below.
• Sumaithangi trust – Ambattur, Chennai.
• Govindapalli primary school – Nellor, Andrapradesh.
• Kannagi nagar primary school – Thoraipakkam, Chennai.
Planned visit during Diwali week as it would make them feel special and celebrate Diwali with us. We got some sweets for every kid when we visited the place. We spent some time talking to them and giving materials directly to them.
This is one of the place where our colleague referred to as he completed his studies over the same school. So we collected students count from school and packed materials based on their age and standard they study as that will help them to use those materials wisely.
The total students we covered are 20+19+9+25=73.
1. Exam pads and Big pencil kits will be directly useful to the 10th class students, because they appear for state board exams. There are a total of 25 students, we had enough pads and pencil kits to distribute.
2. The remaining items such that everyone gets, drawing book, crayons, and pencils were distributed to Play class (20), 1st standard (9) and 2nd standard students (19).
This is nearby school from our office premises where around 800 kids are studying. This was our last distribution part of reshine joy of giving. we collected list of counts for each standard and materials required from school management. Then we sorted the materials remaining after first two distributions, We have seen gap in fulfilling their need. That’s when we got hand from our organization at the right time. They have helped us to fill those gaps. We procured remaining materials needed along with materials remaining.
Planned visit during children’s day week since it would be more special for them. We transported materials with help from colleagues and moved things to the school on planned day. Before their lunch time. Please find distributed things list below.
